For residential purposes, automatic shutters are often used for the garage. It often makes use of a lever system that is installed with the shutter and electronically controlled using a wall switch or a remote control.
The manual is the most popular and widely-used type of roller shutter. These are often seen as closures for open front shops and arcade stalls. For this type of roller shutter, simple spring assisted versions allowing the roller shutter to be push up pull down is fabricated. For slightly higher or larger shutters, a crank handle or chain version can be used. For locking these particular roller shutters, there are a number of options. Ranging from the bullet locks that are situated on the channels and go right through the shutter to a centre lock that sends two lock bars sideways through the channels. For the chain operated roller shutters, a chain keep is provided which is then locked in place.
